PALIN LASHES OUT AGAINST "FAMILY GUY"
This story has been all over headlines from the moment Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol posted comments on their Facebook pages about the Fox comedy "Family Guy." It's ironic, because Palin is such a huge Fox supporter, but when it came down to her family, she saw it as a "kick in the gut." They poked fun at Down syndrome and referenced a character as Palin's daughter. As we all know, Palin's youngest son, Trig, has Down syndrome. Major news organizations have quoted Sarah and Bristol's comments on their web sites and in print publications. She has lashed out about the show on live television, and then her Facebook comments are quoted on the screen. It's amazing to see how far reporters went with these comments that were posted on a social media site. Reporters are questioning her on her statements made on Facebook in interviews that are supposed to be geared toward her book and other concerns.

FINAL PROJECT OUTLINE
I am going to profile an Ohio State freshman who worked at Disney World as a Disney princess. My interview with her is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24. Although Disney has very strict privacy policies, I'm going to try to get as much information about "a day in the life" of a Disney princess. I'm going to interview a career counselor who works at Career Services on campus. The career counselor, April Calkovsky, helps place individuals in internships at Disney World. My third interview will be with a student who atually did an intership at Disney World. She is a third year, Katie Lanesey. My interview with Lanesey is scheduled for Monday 22. My fourth interview will be with with another Ohio State student who worked as a Disney Princess. She is a friend of classmate Matt Skrajner.
Central Theme:
I want my profile to be a "day in the life" type of profile, but with a lot of background information. I'm hoping to receive great quotes to make the story flow and to keep the reader's attention. Since I'm going to interview two girls who were actually Disney Princesses, I want to compare and contrast their experiences. I want to let the readers know exactly what it is like for an individual to literally have one of the most magical jobs!
Other information:
I would love to speak with the director of interns at Disney World if anyone has a connection with he or she. Any person employed at Disney World would be beneficial to my story.
SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE:
I plan to create a Facebook group entitled "Who Wants to be a DISNEY PRINCESS." I would send an invitation to all of my friends on Facebook, but I would also leave the group open for others to join who weren't my friends. I would create a discussion board on the group for people to post their opinions and maybe find some other people who have worked for Disney. I think in a group like this, people would post some pretty interesting things considering a large number of girls have dreamed of being a Disney Princess at one time in their life. I could use quotes to back up the statement that a lot of girls would love having this. I could also back up that statement by the number of people who join the group.

Good Morning Comm 422 students, I’m Ashley Dingus, bringing you today’s news.
In today’s political news, Illinois Democrats pressure lieutenant governor nominee, Scott Lee Cohen, to step down.
Cohen won the primary Tuesday, but has since been hit with allegations of domestic abuse, steroid use and adultery.
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, along with other Democrats, has suggested, he withdraw.
In today’s weather news, the snow cleanup for the East coast is going to be an extended process.
On top of a record snowfall for the D.C. Area, officials are calling for an additional 5-12 inches.
Two teams who weren’t cold this weekend were the New Orleans Saints and the Indiana Colts who were in Miami preparing for the Super Bowl.
The New Orleans Saints stole the show at the Super Bowl last night finishing with a score of 31-17.
Although the St. Louis Rams didn’t get an invite to the Super Bowl this year, Quarterback Kyle Bowl-er was giving out an invitation of his own.
Boller, 28, asked the Ex-Miss California, Carrie Pray-jeen, to marry him on Saturday in San Diego.
In other news from North Carolina, early college high schools, have seen impressive results for at-risk students.
In North Carolina, half of the early college high schools had a 0 percent dropout rate.
Early college high schools have two goals.
ONE: reduce the high school dropout rate, and TWO: Increase the number of people who have degrees.
As of now, there are more than 200 schools apart of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Early College High School Initiative.
This system does raise a question.
Who is to judge how one student will succeed academically.
There are students who come from families with college degrees, but fail out of high school or college.
Who is to say these students shouldn’t get to attend early college high schools.
It’s about providing a path for students, instead of who in their family has a degree.
That’s all from me on Monday, February 8, 2010.

I just don't get it!

Okay, so this is just a personal opinion...not an offensive statement toward anyone who actually does the following: I do NOT understand why people deck their vehicles out in huge sticker decals? I'm even guilty of representing my sorority with a 6 inch sticker of our letters, but I am definately NOT guilty of decking my car out in every single interest I have, for the world to know! For example, I was in the Wendy's drive thru on campus yesterday and saw a brand new car with 13 (yes I counted) stickers on the back of their coup?! If you like the Bengals, the Reds, recycling, Third Eye Blind, shopping, wearing your seat belt, using a MAC, texting on a Blackberry, eating sushi or running in the park, THAT'S GREAT!!! But the person driving behind you, DOES NOT NEED to know about it!! If you want to advertise your interests, take out a personal ad! Really, the last thing I want to know at 7:30 am in the Starbuck's drive thru is your favorite beer, because honestly, I don't care, and reality check, NO ONE else does either! One more valid point, who wants to buy a brand new car, then make it look like a disaster with all of those stickers?! I just don't get it!
